Acting Chief Executive Officer
Mr.
Pritha Bahadur Thapa is the Acting Chief Executive Officer of SKBBL with over
25 years of progressive leadership experience in rural finance, institutional
development, and microfinance program management. He has held pivotal roles at
the Rural Microfinance Development Centre (RMDC). His comprehensive experience includes strategic
management, operational leadership, capacity building, and policy formulation. He
played a key role in the successful merger of RMDC with Sana Kisan Bikas
Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd., demonstrating his capability in managing
large-scale institutional integrations and strengthening outreach to
underserved communities. His leadership has been marked by a focus on enhancing
organizational effectiveness, improving credit recovery systems, and fostering
cooperative promotion and rural credit development.
Mr.
Pritha Bahadur Thapa holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from
Tribhuvan University and has enriched his expertise through international
trainings on microfinance, risk management, and rural finance across various
countries including Bangladesh, India, Philippines Germany and Italy. His
participation in expert forums and study visits has equipped him with best
practices in microfinance institution management and innovative financial
solutions.
Starting
his career in 1997 as a trainee branch manager in a nonprofit microfinance
institution modeled after the Grameen Bank, he has a deep-rooted commitment to
financial inclusion and sustainable rural development. He is also a respected
trainer and resource person, frequently guiding capacity-building initiatives
for financial institutions and cooperatives on credit management, risk
mitigation, business planning, and governance.
